After many years attending music fairs and conventions, this year I had the opportunity to visit WOMEX for the first time. The musical focus is on global music, which is somewhat outside my usual sphere, but there are many overlaps, as stylistic boundaries have become increasingly blurred over the years. This time, the fair took place in the beautiful city of Manchester and was an exciting experience with many thrilling musical and personal encounters.
