Summer is always a busy time for me with a lot of festivals. Even though the music business is a hard place, meeting and talking again with people like Joe Lovano, Ohad Talmor, Jim Black, Marcus Strickland, Larry Grenadier, Vic Juris and some more at the Langnau Jazz Nights this month showed me why I love being a part of this community. All of them are great musicians following their own path, but are also supporting other musicians, no matter what generation or style.
Mostly working in the background for this festival, it was a great pleasure to join my friend Nicole Johänntgen and her band “Henry” for one piece and play on the main stage of the sold-out venue.
